CLAYTON — Northmont High School’s Jamal Trammell hit a free throw with 0.1 seconds left to beat Springfield 55-54 on Friday in Greater Western Ohio Conference Central Division boys basketball action.Trammell rebounded a missed shot by Devon Carter and was fouled while attempting the putback. He missed the second free throw intentionally as time expired. He was 2-of-8 from the line in the game.

After one round of play, the Ohio Heritage Conference girls basketball teams still are chasing unbeaten Triad High School.Dating back to Jan. 15 of last season, the Cardinals (11-0, 7-0 OHC) have won 13 straight league games. They’ll resume OHC play Thursday against Cedarville (4-6, 1-5 OHC), then face second-place Greeneview (8-2, 5-1) on Jan. 21.
